ABOUT LAURA Laura Matthews has been storytelling since she could hold a pencil. Her first "full-length" narratives leapt from the keys of her father's white Selectric, were bound with wallpaper scraps and staples, and covered the pith and moment of her toys and stuffed animals. As she grew, so did her stories, about friends, romance, world events. Majoring in business in college (hey, she had to eat, didn't she?) and minoring in English lit, she found even in her first clerical jobs that she became in demand as a "last look" for everything in print that went out of the office. She was soon editing business proposals and correspondence in such diverse fields as non-profit, construction management and entertainment marketing. Laura's subsequent job descriptions had "editor" in the title, most significantly her five years as Managing Editor for a content-rich Web startup. There, she worked with hundreds of authors from around the world to get their stories online. As far as her own writing, Laura has had over one hundred narrative articles published in various periodicals, mostly on the subject of spirituality. She participated in the annual Harvard Neiman Narrative Journalism Conference for five years, there honing her love of and interest in storytelling. In the meantime, she also pursued a love of theater and film. From president of her high school drama club to performing in college, directing and producing community theater, mastering the skill of script supervision (continuity) for film, and exhibiting a talent for story analysis, Laura has shown an affinity for dramatic storytelling in all its forms. Put her eagle eye and story skills to work for you. Contact www.thinkStory.biz
